It was an amazing experience with pleasant weather. The garden is open for the public to visit from February 2 to March 31, 2024.

About Amrit Udyan

Mughal Garden is located within the Rashtrapati Bhavan complex, the official residence of the President of India. These gardens were not built by the Mughals themselves but were established in the early 20th century, drawing inspiration from the Mughal style.

They are divided into three sections: the Persian Garden, the Italian Garden, and the Spring Garden, each showcasing distinct design elements and horticultural wonders.

Attractions In Amrit Udyan Not to Miss

Amrit Udyan Signature (artistic garden signature as a selfie point), Floral Clock, Bonsai Garden, Musical Fountains, Central Lawn, Long Garden, Chhoti Narangi and Hanging Gardens, Circular Garden, Vertical Garden, Tray Garden, Gardens in Wheelbarrows, Zen Garden, Majestic Banyans, and Food Court among many others.

The captivating fragrances through themed gardens showcasing tulips, lilies, roses, and a multitude of other exotic varieties.

Other attractions include Bal Vatika. It is an exclusively curated garden for children featuring the story of a 225-year-old Sheesham tree, a treehouse, and a Nature classroom. Additionally, the Bonsai and Circular Gardens showcase a diverse array of flora and fauna.

You will also see the world of medicinal plants at the Herbal Gardens. Learn about their properties and uses, and marvel at the diverse plant life thriving in these dedicated spaces.

Amrit Udyan Food Court

A food court is available for refreshments, where you can sit and eat various things. The menu includes burgers, chowmin, rajma chawal, thali, chole kulche, ice cream, and other eatables. 


Amrit Udyan Timing and Entry Gate

  • Amrit Udyan is open to the public from February 2 to March 31, 2024.
  • Amrit Udyan Garden at Rashtrapati Bhavan is open for visitors from 10 am to 5 pm. The last entry will be at 4:15 PM and exit by 5 PM. 
  • The entry to Amrit Udyan is through Gate No. 35 of Rashtrapati Bhavan. 
  • Shuttle bus service is available from Gate No. 4 of Central Secretariat Metro Station from 9.30 am till 3:30 pm at the interval of every 30 minutes. 
  • Please note that Amrit Udyan will be closed every Monday for maintenance and on Holi, which is on March 25th, 2024, as it is a Gazetted Holiday.

Amrit Udyan Ticket Price

Amrit Udyan Entry is Free for all visitors from Gate no. 35. You don’t need to buy any ticket for the garden. However, you must book a slot for entry. You can book your entry online as well as directly there at the Registration/Information Centre or Self-Service Kiosks before entering places outside Gate No. 35.

It is advisable to book tickets online because if there is be crowd, you have to wait longer.

Advance Booking: Online booking slots open 10 days before your planned visit and are available in hourly slots. For example, you can choose a slot from 1 pm to 2 pm, 3 pm to 4 pm, and so on. Slot timings start from 10 am to 4 pm.

A mobile number is necessary for online bookings, and only one booking is allowed per mobile number.

If you want to go in a group, then you can make a reservation for a maximum of 30 visitors in a single booking.


Things You Must Know Before Visiting Amrit Udyan

1. Visitors are allowed to carry water bottles, umbrellas, wallets, purses, handbags, and milk bottles for babies.

2. Eatables / Paan/ Gutka/ Cigarettes/ Backpacks/ Cameras/ Video Cameras are not allowed inside Udyan.

3. Snacks, Beverages, and Souvenirs are available on a payment basis in the foodcourt area.

How to Reach Mughal Garden

The nearest metro station to the Amrit Udyan are Central Secretariat. It is on yellow and violet lines with a distance of 2 km.

You can also reach through Shivaji Stadium. It is on the orange line with a distance of 2 km.

Patel Chowk on the yellow line is also the nearest metro, which is at a distance of 2.1 km. You can take an auto from the metro stations or just walk up to the gardens.
